Father’s Day is always bitter sweet for me. Bitter, because I wasn’t lucky enough to have my father around for most of my years, but sweet because it allowed the pleasure of so many beautiful men and teachers in my life in his stead. They colour my life with a mosaic of love, words of advice, gut wrenching laughs and that “oh so necessary” male perspective when it comes to life and love. I couldn’t have asked for anything more. That’s why this production by The Human Eliment warms my heart so.

A Father’s Love Story features captivating memoirs from a diverse group of fathers who share their perspective on fatherhood. A true expression of intimate stories as they not only share that precious moment when they found out they were going to be fathers, but also some of their favourite moments with their own children. Definitely something that brought up so many “feels” in me. This was such a perfect visual account honoring fathers by fathers who celebrate their parental bonds and the significance it has played in their lives.
