Spring is finally making its way into the GTA and now it is the perfect time to let everyone know what I think will be poppin’ this year as the temperatures start to rise.

  1. Trench Coats

Spring is a season where the weather is usually between 10°C-20°C. But seeing as we live in Canada, the weather can change drastically within a couple of hours.  Spring mornings are always on the cooler side, but it’s too warm to wear a full out parka jacket. That’s where trench coats come into play. They are light but enough to keep you warm when the air is brisk. Try to be different when you are selecting trench coats by looking for different styles and colours. I personally like pastel colours for Spring in general, so trying something new like wearing a powder blue trench coat will have everyone stop and stare at your stylish decision.

Burberry $2243.81

Dolce & Gabbana $4213.31

Michael Kors $210.88

  1. Sneakers

I am always obsessed with a killer stiletto heel, but my feet are never a fan of them. I am always looking for stylish sneakers that I can wear with a pair of distressed jeans and a leather biker jacket or go for a girly casual look and wear them with a T-shirt dress. Sometimes, though, Jordans and Nike Dunks look too “sneaker head-ish” and  just don’t do it for me. Designers have made fashionable sneakers for those girls who want to be comfortable while still looking girly. I personally like sneakers with any sort of sparkle on them because I feel like it reflects my personality.

  1. T-shirt Dresses

Around the ending of April is when the Spring season starts to get warmer and that is when we can finally shave our legs, expose what leg day in the gym was really about, and wear T-shirt dresses.  T-shirt dresses are the most comfortable style of dress you can wear. They are not body hugging and they don’t have 10 different cut outs in them. They’re flowy dresses that allows for true comfort and style.  T-shirt dresses can be paired with a cute sneaker, oxfords, or ballerina flats. But if you really want to look more “dressy casual,” then you can pair them with a simple heel. My favourite kinds of t-shirt dresses are the ones that have horizontal stripes because it gives it more of a simplistic look.

  1. Purses

A purse completes an outfit and should coincide with your outfit. Spring is all about colours, so try purchasing a purse that makes a statement, especially if you are wearing all black or all white. I know I need to add some colour to my wardrobe when it comes to purses, so I will be on the hunt in the next couple of weeks to find some interesting pieces.

Kate Spade $419.22

Sophie Hulme $837.03

Ted Baker $316.53

Tory Burch $696.36

YSL $2321.19

  1. Thigh High/Over The Knee Boots

Thigh high boots have been trendy the last couple of years and they are perfect for the spring weather, particularly when it gets cooler in the night time. I just purchased my first pair of thigh high boots and I cannot wait to wear them with an oversized T-shirt and a jean jacket or biker jacket. I got them in all black so it will go with any outfit that I wear, but dare yourself to wear different colour boots in order to separate from the rest of the fashion world.

Calvin Klein $279.88

Jeffrey Campbell $330.52
