Design Find // Scott Wilk’s Watchwork
Precision to detail, metalsmith Scott Wilk’s stainless steel wristwatch is sure to keep you checking the time. A handcrafted oxidized sterling silver dial displays the watch’s character. Luminous minute and hour hands tick around a numberless face, which features a raised stippled area. A superb copper plate encompasses teal blue hands, furthering the stylistic quality.
Just as much attention and care has been focused on the inner mechanical workings of the watch. A transparent back allows the wearer to see and appreciate such intricacies.
Wilk, originally from London, Ont., has studied metalsmithing since 1996. He received a bachelor of fine arts degree from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in 1998. Since then Wilk’s has developed a keen eye for aesthetically modern and imaginative designs. Currently Wilk is studying horology (the science or art of studying time).
